Women’s Jiu Jitsu

A branding experiment to create a disarming but ambitious tone to a women’s jiu jitsu class. In an ecosystem of run clubs and community-based fitness, the goal was to present a women’s jiu jitsu program as an approachable but still standout option.

Approach:

Being personally familiar with the members and instructors of the program, I knew that the participants didn’t need to be staged, they just needed their natural movement represented in a clean and approachable way.

Method:

The photography is the most important part of these assets so I solidified an aesthetic direction, scheduled participants, hired a familiar photographer, planned shots, and even participated in the shots while directing.

Graphics & Identity

I leveraged the photography to create content for social media and the gym’s website. I pulled colors from the gym to keep the brand consistent and wrote copy to address the most necessary details
